The Starplay instrument setup wizard will guide you through a series of steps to ensure everything is working.
Getting Started
First, Starplay will test your audio input. Choose your input from the drop down box, make some noise and the meter should light up!
If you aren't seeing anything on the meter, check that your microphone is plugged in and has a working battery (if required).
Input Level
Ensure your microphone is placed near to your instrument and play something loud. Adjust the level knob until the meter is close to full most of the time, but without too much clipping (watch the red clipping indicator).
Background Noise
Click on the start button to begin the background noise check.
This will check the ambient noise level within the room and let you know if the background noise is too loud. Remember that Starplay will give much more accurate feedback in a room with a low background noise level.
Once these checks are completed, you may elect to tune your instrument.
